With the aim of fostering scientific and educational research in the areas of Food, Nutrition and Health, the Danone Institute has launched a call for Awards and Research Grants.

The call includes three types of awards: The Danone Institute Research Grants, the Dr. Carles Martí Henneberg Scientific Career Award and the Scientific Dissemination Award.

In the first case, the Institute will award two two-year Research Grants for €40,000 each. 75% of the grant, however, must go to hiring research personnel in training. The aim of these grants is to promote basic, clinical and applied scientific work in food, nutrition and health.

The Dr. Carles Martí Henneberg Scientific Career Award recognizes the work of one Spanish scientist or researcher living in Spain who has worked in any of the three areas. Candidates must be submitted by people or organizations of renowned prestige or by the candidates themselves, and the award comes with a €20,000 prize.

Finally, any work that appeared in the national, regional or local Spanish media in 2014 may be submitted for consideration for the Scientific Dissemination Award. Work related to the health benefits of yogurt and other fermented dairy products will be given special consideration. The award recognizes communication work promoting food, nutrition and health and comes with a €3,000 prize.

The deadline to submit applications for any of the three categories is 31 May 2015.
