Biocat Strategic Foresight and International Relations Director Montse Daban has been reelected President of the Council of European BioRegions (CEBR), the main European network of life sciences clusters, for 2025-2026. This choice was announced at the annual CEBR meeting held in Krakow (Poland) in May.

By being reelected, Daban is consolidating the leadership of Biocat and the Catalan life sciences and healthcare sector in Europe, carrying on the work she began in 2023 when she was first elected CEBR president.

The new CEBR board of directors for 2025-2026 is as follows:

  • President: Montse Daban (Biocat, Catalonia)
  • Vice-president: Hickmah Tagauly (Medicen Paris, France)
  • Treasurer: Kazimierz Murzyn (Klaster LifeScience Krakow, Poland)
     

Board Members: 

  • Sauro Vicini (Clust-ER Health, Italy)
  • Margot Jehle (BioRegio STERN, Germany)
  • Alexis Biton (Genopole, France)
  • Karen Lindegaard (DLS Cluster, Denmark)
  • Pablo Zardoya-Laguardia (Human.technology Styria, Austria)
  • RIA Hein (Brabant Development Agency, Netherlands) 
  • Kristina Eskenazi (Health and Life Sciences Cluster Bulgaria, Bulgaria)
     

CEBR, which currently has more than 40 full members and represents 50 bioregions and approximately 15,000 healthcare innovation stakeholders around Europe including thousands of innovative SMEs, research centers and universities, is reinforcing its position as the benchmark network for promoting research, knowledge transfer and collaboration among clusters and organizations in the sector. This new term, CEBR proposes to continue strengthening the European bioeconomy by promoting policies, collaboration among regions and support for innovation.
