A total of 33 Catalan companies and organizations are going to be at BIO-Europe 2017, Europe's largest partnering conference dedicated to global biotechnology innovation. This year´s BIO-Europe partnering event is held at Berlin and raws over 3,800 industry attendees from over 60 countries, representing more than 2,000 companies for three days of high level networking. In addition to productive partnering, BIO-Europe offers high level workshops, panels, company presentations, and a lively exhibition. 

Catalan companies attending the conference are Ability Pharma, Genmedica Therapeutics, GP Pharm, Oryzon Genomics, Peptomyc, Spherium Biomed and Thrombotargets (Biotechnology - Therapies and Diagnostics); Anapharm Bioanalytics, Anaxomics Biotech, Biokit, Intelligent Pharma, Lebsa, Mind the Byte, Molomics and ProteoDesign (Biotechnology - R & D Services); Biocat, Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) and Autonomous University of Barcelona (institutions); Ysios Capital and Caixa Capital Risc (venture capital entities); Almirall, Esteve, Ferrer Internacional, Gebro Pharma, Kern Pharma, Laboratorios Menarini, Laboratorios Rubió, LACER and Reig Jofre (Pharma companies); Asphalion, Alira Health and Genesis Biomed (Professional and Consulting Services) and Transplant Biomedicals (medtech).

 

Internationalization activities with Biocat

Biocat has a space at the stand of the European bioXclusters plus project (number 31), shared with the other 3 leading European clusters in biotechnology and health (BioM, BioPMed and Lyonbiopole), where companies from the BioRegion of Catalonia can disseminate their information and advertising material and discover bioXclusters plus initiatives for landing in foreign markets (USA, Canada, South Korea, China, Brazil).

Biocat, in the framework of the European projects Boost4Health and bioXclusters plus, organizes several activities in BIO-Europe Berlin. On Monday 6th,“Boost4Health networking and pitching sesión”  allows SME's from Boost4Health areas  have a minute to showcase their innovations in a fireside session and participate in a networking coffee to exchange business cards with the other participants. During the session, attendees will discover the services that Boost4Health offers to SMEs, such as financial support to encourage transnational collaboration and a marketplace for validation services.

Also on Monday 6th, bioxclusters plus organizes “Global Gateways”, activity to provide information about the Gateways’ internationalization services, including soft landing, partner research and identification, as well as facilitating the development of research and business relations around the world.

On Tuesday 7th, Startup Slam offers entrepreneurs in the areas of the life sciences and healthcare the possibility of presenting their company in BIO-Europe.
