The international conference Redefining Early Stage Investments (RESI), organized by Life Science Nation (LSN), has chosen Barcelona to host its first conference in Europe. This event, dubbed RESI Europe Barcelona 2024, will make the Catalan capital the global epicenter of the life sciences sector next June. The partnering conference expects to attract over 600 people, over half of which will be international investors.

RESI is one of the biggest partnering conferences aimed at connecting early-stage startups with investors to establish strategic partnerships. It is also geared towards service providers and technology hubs.

Collaboration from Biocat, the local co-organizer, and Biotechgate, a pioneer in curating and commercializing a global business development database for the life sciences industry, has been key in bringing this conference to Europe for the first time.

Biocat is unique in Europe because they get it; they understand that shining an international light on their startups and getting them into capital and licensing arrangements early builds the ecosystem's future.

CEO of Life Science Nation

Biocat’s active participation in this initiative is a noteworthy opportunity to drive the life sciences and healthcare ecosystem in Catalonia.

LNS has developed a buy-side network that will bring funding into the BioRegion of Catalonia. Biocat is confident that our rich life science technology ecosystem will capture the attention of global investors and licensing partners and enhance BioRegion’s global footprint.

The event will take place over three days: the first, on June 17, will be in person with the aim of facilitating partnering meetings between startups and investors, as well as attending conferences and workshops featuring industry speakers. The last two days (June 18 and 19) will be in a virtual format.

Benefits for companies in the BioRegion of Catalonia

With Barcelona becoming a magnet for investment in healthcare, this collaboration to bring RESI to Barcelona in 2024 also has specific advantages for organizations in the BioRegion of Catalonia. Specifically, they will enjoy a 10% discount on registration fees at any time.
