During the year’s last plenary session of the Congress of Deputies, on 18 December, all of the political parties represented signed an institutional declaration supporting the biotech sector.
The declaration, which was signed just as the Year of Biotechnology came to a close, demonstrates the commitment all political parties have to the sector and to its contribution to the country’s economic and social growth. It confirms the important role biotechnology is playing at a time when knowledge is seen as a springboard for growth; and highlights the sector’s great capacity to leverage innovation.
To sum up, the plenary session of the Congress of Deputies congratulated and seconded the commitment of the organizations that promoted the Year of Biotechnology, Asebio, Fediotec, Sebiot and Fedit. Congress recognizes their key role in promoting the sector and in the merits and recognitions received on a global level, acknowledging that the biotechnology sector puts us in a leading position on global rankings.
