BIO-Europe Spring 2024
The 18th edition of BIO-Europe Spring (BES) was held from 18 to 20 March 2024 in Barcelona. For the fourth time, the city hosted the most important conference held in Europe for the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry.
The BioRegion of Catalonia consisted of an exhibition space to publicize the most important assets of the ecosystem and reaffirm its position as one of the main European health hubs. Biocat headed the host committee, together with the Generalitat de Catalunya, Barcelona City Council and other entities in the ecosystem.
BIO-Europe Spring, the spring edition of the most important partnering congress that takes place in Europe for the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry, was held in Barcelona from March 18 to 20, 2024 in a hybrid way: face-to-face at the International Convention Center of Barcelona (CCIB) and in virtual format.
The event, international in scope and focus, brought together more than 3,100 prominent executives from around the world and organized more than 19,000 partnering meetings with the aim of bringing in contact leaders from the academic world, new companies creation and technological companies in the expansion phase with investors and pharmaceutical entities. Several round tables, presentations and exhibitions, among other activities, also took place.

Biocat led the Regional Host Committee, together with the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Barcelona City Council, and which included in the delegation five specialized venture capital managers (Asabys Partners, Alitah Bioventures, Invivo Capital, Inveready and Ysios Capital) and two state sector associations: AseBio and Itemas.
In addition, in this edition, the BioRegió de Catalunya had its own pavilion in the center of the exhibition space (stand #20). Apart from a wide program of specialized conferences, there were also networking receptions in unique spaces in the city.
