Where and when?
The Agency for Health Quality and Assessment of Catalonia (AQuAS) and INGENIO (CSIC-UPV) are organizing Transformative Science Tuesdays, a community space for discussion where content and good practices are shared, and participants are invited to reflect and think critically about issues related to science and research, with members of the research ecosystem taking center stage.
The upcoming Transformative Science Tuesdays sessions will take place on September 30 and November 25, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the CSIC Researchers’ Residence (Barcelona), with the option to join via Zoom.
Research Centres of the Future – September 30, 2025
Time: 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Hybrid format: In-person (CSIC Researchers’ Residence, c/ Hospital 64, Barcelona) and online via Zoom
This session will explore how the concept of transformative science challenges and reshapes the current model of research centres. Key topics will include governance, evaluation systems, transformative responsibility, and the role of research centres in promoting science aligned with major social challenges. Voices from across the research ecosystem will share proposals and experiences that point toward new ways of organizing and applying knowledge.

Transformative Science Policies – November 25, 2025

Hybrid format: In-person (CSIC Researchers’ Residence, c/ Hospital 64, Barcelona) and Virtual
The session will examine science policies in terms of their ability to generate real-world impact. It will reflect on the relationship between regulations, strategic planning, and expected outcomes, taking into account the long timelines characteristic of research. The role of instruments such as iCERCA and AQuAS will also be explored as enablers of transformative policies promoted by the Departments of Research and Universities, and of Health.
