Health Investment Portal launched

The portal continues the line of work that began with the Invest BioRegion Portal, defined in the 2024–2027 Strategic Plan as a platform to facilitate the promotion of the BioRegion of Catalonia’s portfolio of startups and innovative projects among investors, scouts, business developers, companies and other key stakeholders in the sector.

The Health Investment Portal features several improvements aimed at optimizing the connection between startups, innovative projects and scouts. Some of the most notable new features include an intelligent personalized search system, which prioritizes the most suitable matches between innovators and investors based on each profile’s characteristics and the selected filters; new filtering criteria, such as regulatory stage, investment ticket size and type of co-development; and centralized, integrated access to the Health Innovation Communities of the BioRegion of Catalonia, which include the Healthcare System Access Program (PASS), the Catalan Advanced Therapies Network and the Health Investment Portal.

The platform also incorporates tracking and continuous update features. Innovators can receive information about interest in their projects, with data on visits and notifications to keep their content up to date. Access to the portal is free, but subject to validation by Biocat in order to ensure the quality of the profiles and the interactions generated.

At the time of its launch, the portal featured over 150 innovations, including 96 research projects and 64 startups or spinoffs from Catalonia. Plus, there were already 165 registered scouts, including national and international investors and corporates, consolidating the portal as a key meeting point to foster partnerships, business opportunities and new agreements in the life sciences and healthcare sector.
