Participation in BREATH and BRIDGE European projects
In 2025, Biocat strengthened its participation in European projects with the kickoff of BREATH and BRIDGE, two initiatives funded by the European Commission aimed at bolstering key areas for the future of health innovation and biotechnology: research talent and biomanufacturing.

BREATH —Building R&I Talent Ecosystems to Advance Careers in Health Innovation— aims to improve the management of talent in health research and innovation in Catalonia, Flanders and Lithuania, making a career in research more attractive, competitive and sustainable. With a budget of €1.99 million and a duration of 36 months, the project will develop governance models, career plans and professional development services. Biocat is leading the work package focusing on co-creation of the talent ecosystem, which includes identifying key stakeholders, analyzing barriers and designing a shared governance framework.
For its part, BRIDGE —Biomanufacturing Regions for Integrated Development and Growth in the Ecosystems— seeks to strengthen regional biomanufacturing ecosystems in Catalonia, Campania and Silesia through interregional cooperation and knowledge transfer. With a budget of €1.39 million and a duration of 24 months, the project will work on mapping the ecosystems, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and developing S3 roadmaps to guide regional investments and policies. Biocat is leading the work package focused on mapping ecosystems and developing these roadmaps.
