International ATMP alliances and missions
As part of the strategy to drive advanced therapies and personalized medicine, Biocat strengthened the international profile of the BioRegion of Catalonia through several institutional initiatives and missions aimed at connecting the Catalan ecosystem with other leading European hubs.
In this context, Biocat took part in an institutional event at the European Parliament in Brussels, focused on personalized medicine and advanced therapies. The session was an opportunity to bring Catalonia’s capabilities in these fields to the European arena and highlighted the need to promote collaborative frameworks that facilitate research, development, manufacturing, assessment and access to new therapeutic solutions. This presence strengthened Biocat’s role as the BioRegion of Catalonia’s interlocutor in European strategic debate and decision-making forums.
Also in the field of international alliances, Biocat led an institutional delegation to Sweden as part of ATMP Catalonia, with the aim of strengthening ties with the Nordic advanced therapies ecosystem. The mission allowed participants to share experiences, identify collaboration opportunities and explore synergies with stakeholders specializing in research, clinical development, manufacturing, hospital innovation and transfer. This action helped expand ATMP Catalonia’s international network and connect the BioRegion of Catalonia’s capabilities with other advanced European hubs in this field.
Biocat also brought the strategic frameworks for personalized medicine to the European debate in the context of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. This made it possible to place the priorities for personalized medicine, health data and advanced therapies on an agenda shared by regions, institutions and innovation stakeholders, and reinforced the need to advance towards more coordinated, interoperable models geared towards the real-world adoption of innovation in healthcare systems.
This set of actions strengthened the international dimension of ATMP Catalonia and Biocat’s role as a connector between the Catalan ecosystem and the main European initiatives in advanced therapies and personalized medicine. Through institutional presence, international missions and participation in strategic debate forums, Biocat helped showcase the BioRegion of Catalonia’s capabilities and generate new collaboration opportunities to drive the translation of research to patients.
